Out to help those looking for a quick relaxation fix, a new drink from Canada offers ‘an acupuncture session’ in every can. An antidote to energy drinks like Red Bull, Slow Cow was developed to help people de-stress.
Under the premise that caffeine-packed drinks tend to increase anxiety, Slow Cow contains theanine, chamomile, valerian, passiflora and other ingredients known for their calming effects. The beverage is meant to increase mental awareness while improving relaxation, without the post-hit dip that caffeine and other stimulants cause.
Slow Cow, whose tongue-in-cheek logo apparently did not amuse Red Bull, might have found a gap in a market saturated with energy drinks of every possible variety. It's not the only beverage to position itself as a relaxation drink, mind you, (Drank is another), but Slow Cow gets our vote for best branding. Seems like a natural fit for spas, hotels, airlines—or anywhere else consumers could use a serving of relaxation.

Great idea and I'm assuming they've solved for the Valerian issue which smells more like cud than cow.
Fantastic idea, at last somebody is thinking in those of us who do not want to be in "the rat race" all day long and would rather enjoy life at a lower pace.
This is just the sort of drink, we at the International Institute of Not Doing Much (IINDM), approve of. Well done!
This sounds amazing! I wish we had it in New Zealand
Redbull VS Slowcow, Crazy World versus pacific world. Fantastic Branding and positioning
I love the idea. However, I would prefer mary jane to be legalized.
Slow Cow is interesting, in part because it's counter market- energy drinks- terribly misnamed, are one of the nastiest things one can put in the body.
I’ve read numerous articles on the subject, have written them as well, and occasionally speak about the topic.
There is one that got introduced Sept 1st, 2009 (today as I write this), that is in a category of it’s own. Natural and yet with years of scientific research, it has some pretty amazing benefits and is very good for the mind and alertness as well.
It has a bit of caffeine, mostly due to the green tea extract, but it's the other ingredients that make the big difference. In the interest of disclosure, I became so impressed I became a rep for the product. I can guarantee you won’t find anything like it anywhere. I was able to obtain some before it was officially launched, and drink it everyday with great benefit.
I almost feel sorry for the general public that is unlikely to find out about a product that is too advanced to be found in the grocery store isle.
