Online pharmacy makes pill regimens less confusing
Work & Lifestyle
PillPack mails any prescription direct to patients, conveniently organized, dated and refilled when necessary.
When you’re ill, the last thing you want to worry about is whether you’re taking the right pills at the right time, or if you’re about the run out. We recently saw Walgreens and TaskRabbit take the pain out of getting medicine for cold and flu sufferers by delivering it to their door within a couple of hours. Now online pharmacy PillPack is mailing any prescription direct to patients, conveniently organized, dated and refilled when necessary.
Those signing up for the service can set up their prescriptions through the site, and have them sent to their address. The company offers deliveries every two weeks for repeat prescriptions, and each order comes with a disposable box that aims to replace traditional pillboxes, which can be complicated and require patients to organize them themselves. PillPack prescriptions come individually pre-sorted and packed by the dose and date they need to be taken, in a convenient strip that can be fed into the pillbox. Members simply tear off that day’s dose, with the date and medication type clearly printed on each pack. Refills are automatically sent in time to be loaded into the pillbox, and users can order an extra refill at any time. As well as offering its prescription service in 31 states of the US, those in all 50 states can buy over-the-counter medicines through the site. The video below explains more about how the service works:
PillPack membership costs USD 20 a month and any prescriptions are sent in discreet packaging to maintain members’ privacy. Are there other ways to make pill-taking a less stressful process?
