Multi-purpose suitcase

Carry-on suitcase transforms into a high chair

Work & Lifestyle

A stylish new suitcase turns into a high chair to make it easier for parents to travel with small children.

Travelling with small children, especially on airplanes, can be a tiring experience for parents. Carrying a suitcase, highchair, diaper bag and toys, all while keeping an eye on their child, requires organisation. Now design company KAMO has come up with a solution in the Valeto. Valeto is the world’s first all-in-one highchair, diaper bag and carry-on suitcase. It transforms from a stylish piece of luggage to a highchair in seconds. The handle lifts to become the chair back, while the legs and armrests expand from the outside of the suitcase.

The Valeto is designed for children between six months and three years of age. It contains almost 1,600 cubic inches of storage. A magnetic flap at the back of the suitcase provides easy access to removable organisational baskets which are useful for separating items such as snacks, bottles, diapers and toys. Using this feature, parents can access items from the suitcase with ease while also minding their children. The bag also includes two disposable wet wipe holders, has 360 degree hubless wheels and is small enough to use as carry-on luggage.

According to KAMO founder Tony Chen, the company aims to make the world a better place one family at a time. Chen states, “By creating a high-quality, all-in-one device, we believe we can encourage families to go to places and do things they might not have otherwise done!” The luggage is available for pre-order now and prices start at USD 399. The company plans to begin shipping in May 2018. The Valeto joins recent innovations designed to make air travel easier, such as luxury airline cabins and a virtual aquarium that speeds up security checks.
