Cashback app lets users earn even if they're using company expenses

Work & Lifestyle

Spain's Spendearning app enables employees to claim personal cashback on business expenses for the consumer choices they make.

While meals and hotel stays are paid for by the company on business trips, it’s the employee that often makes the decision on which brands get the money when they dine and book accommodation. Now Spain’s Spendearning app enables employees to claim personal cashback on business expenses for the consumer choices they make.

Like many cashback platforms, Spendearning is partnered with a number of brands that reward customers by offering monetary incentives when they spend money on their products and services. Users can check if the restaurant or hotel they visited is linked with the app, enter the details of their recent purchase and receive credit in their account once verified. Although the app can be used for personal purchases, employees paying through business expenses or using the company credit card can still win money back into their own account, since they’re the ones choosing which brands to dine or stay with. Users can also get cash for recommending companies to friends and colleagues as well as inviting them to use Spendearning. The video below explains — in Spanish — more about the service:

Spendearning is free to download from both the App Store and Google Play. Could companies encourage use of platforms such as this to incentivize employees that travel for work regularly?
