Supermercato24 sends personal shoppers to buy groceries and hand-deliver them based on a customised schedule.
Spotted: The Italian shopping app, Supermercato24, aims to simplify grocery shopping by offering personalised, hand-delivered service at the swipe of your phone.
While grocery shopping online is not new, Supermercato24 offers a platform designed to address two major challenges. The first is its use of personal shoppers to handle the actual purchases, which is easier for customers than selecting items individually online. Second is its partnering with retail partners, allowing them to take full advantage of online shopping. Supermarcato24 helps supermarkets digitise their inventory, manage online payments and provide customer care. The app also takes care of delivery.
The app focuses on convenience. Shoppers use the app to select their preferred supermarket and can set a deadline for receiving their groceries. The shopping is done by a personal shopper who hand delivers the groceries at the preselected time.
Supermercato24 is already partnering with large local and international supermarket chains like Coop and Conad. The company has received €13 million in investments, which will be used to expand the service.
