Company launches one of the most sustainable vans on the market

Sustainable, eco-friendly and health-conscious materials are used throughout

Spotted: Californian design firm Muse & Co. Outdoors has launched an intuitive and sustainable “Sprinter” van design. With the company’s purpose being that of uniting art and architecture to create immersive spaces, their latest model, which is named Muse & Co. Outdoors, is on the road to doing just that. The company offers two van conversion configurations, a two-passenger and a five-passenger, both built on the Mercedes Benz Sprinter platform. 

The company only uses sustainable, eco-friendly and health-conscious materials. Features include Havelock wool insulation which offers superior sound dampening while helping keep temperatures cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The flooring is marmoleum derived from natural sources, with FSC-Certified pine wood siding, zero-VOC paint, and PaperStone countertops made from recycled paper products. There is even a Maxxfan Deluxe ceiling fan and vent for the hot summer months, while an integrated heater with thermostat keeps campers cozy on cold nights. 

If you’ve ever lived in a van, you know that keeping food cold is often a challenge. Unlike a lot of other vans, Muse & Co. Outdoors has an inbuilt 12v “Dometic” fridge/freezer. There are also two burner stoves and a sink. The dining area in both models converts to additional sleeping capacity and there are also lots of storage options, a pop-up counter and even a spice rack, providing plenty of space for pantry items and cookware.  A queen-size memory foam mattress makes sleeping in the van a veritable luxury.

As for the electrics, there are four 100 amp Lithium batteries and 400 watts of premium ZAMP Obsidian solar power. A 15 amp power inlet allows campers to plug into a power system when available. Finally, every van has a carbon monoxide detector, a smoke detector, and two fire extinguishers.
