Crisp packet codes track the snack’s origins

An international manufacturer of potato chips hopes to teach its customers on how their crisps came to be.

Crisps fiends everywhere will now get the opportunity to learn the origin of their favourite snack thanks to tracker codes printed on Kettle Chips packets. The Tater Tracker codes are placed beneath the best before date. Customer simply have to enter the 10-14 digit long code into the Kettle Brand website to learn more about the farmers that harvested the potatoes that helped make their snack a reality.

Kettle Brand prides itself in the short time their products go from the ground to the crisp bag, working with farmers to create a streamlined and eco-efficient process. Referring to their farmer partners as Tater Makers, Kettle Brand hopes the tracking codes will provide transparency and give its farmers the credit they deserve. The brand works with 18 different US farms, including Baley-Trotman Farms in Oregon, Kirschenmann Farms in California, and Walther Farms in Michigan.
