Designed to be an easy DIY project, the building includes loft and patio space
Spotted: Fans of prefab will love Hello Wood’s latest design. The Budapest-based architecture studio specialises in sustainable, socially-conscious building. With the introduction of the Kabinka, the studio provides an eco-friendly, live-work space at a fraction of the price of a traditional home. Kabinka is available in four sizes — from 12 to 20 square metres. The structure is high enough to accommodate a loft and is designed specifically to fit a sofa, kitchen, bathroom and stove in the main living space.
The cabin could serve as a home, an office, a retreat space or fulfil many other public or private roles, and the largest size includes a patio. Manufactured in Hungary, construction of the base model takes between six and eight weeks, with customised elements taking slightly longer.
Each kit includes instructions, all components and technical support documents. Prices and floor plans of the different sized kits are available upon request. A variety of support is available for additional fees with options ranging from a site visit, landscaping and electrical installation to professional supervision and complete assembly.
Over the years, Springwise has spotted a range of micro home designs, from interlocking wooden bricks to a free-standing smart building. What they all share is a focus on sustainability via reductions in environmental and carbon footprints.
