This company preserves the heritage of iconic cars, but with a greener footprint
Spotted: The world is going electric, and there is a future coming where driving internal combustion engine vehicles may become much more difficult. So, what does this mean for classic cars? Many of these are considered works of art, will they need to be scrapped? Not if UK-based Everrati has anything to do with it.
Everatti began by electrifying traditional ICE vehicles, giving some of the world’s most iconic vehicles a second life by converting them into high-performance EVs, preserving their history, design, and performance while reducing carbon emissions. However, replacing the rare, original engines in some of these vehicles was a step too far for classic car fans, so Everatti is also developing electric “continuation models” of classics like Ford’s GT40 using the original shell.
Everatti first makes a 3D-scan of the entire chassis, which allows it to create a CAD model. This helps the team determine how much battery capacity it can fit in without exceeding gross vehicle mass allowance or changing the weight distribution or chassis. The result is a vehicle with the same handling and characteristics as the original.
As Justin Lunny, Everatti CEO and Founder told Springwise, “We aren’t just electrifying cars – we’re meticulously re-storing and re-engineering them with our team of expert artisans, to match, or even exceed, their original performance.” Everatti’s vehicles maintain their soul, design, and driving experience, but as sustainable, high-performance options for classic car enthusiasts who care about the future.
Lunny told Springwise that Everatti is seeing growing global demand for sustainable luxury and is dedicated to “innovating new models and enhancing the EV experience” for enthusiasts around the world, particularly focusing on the Middle East and Gulf States.
