Production studio works exclusively with repurposed plastics

The London company uses single-use plastics destined for landfill to create products for events and other festivals

Spotted: London’s Ecobooth design and production studio helps businesses reduce waste by transforming their events into zero or low-waste experiences.

Ecobooth collects plastic waste from a variety of events, pointing out that almost everything is single-use. Signs, carpets, temporary walls, banners and more use acrylic, PVC, laminate and vinyl materials — none of which are recyclable. The company then repurposes the plastic into a new range of bespoke event and exhibition products.

Central to this work is the company’s furniture line called Ocean Plastic Furniture. The tables, chairs, benches and stools are made from plastic cleaned from the oceans. Event and production companies lease the furniture as part of the process of making launches, exhibitions and festivals more sustainable.

Entirely focused on sustainable projects, the studio runs its own business accordingly. All products are constructed in its renewable energy-powered headquarters and deliveries are made in electric vehicles. The company is a certified zero-waste business.
