An app tackles the gender finance gap

This platform is making investing more accessible for women

Spotted: Recent research has found that the gender investment gap is increasing, with UK men investing over £1 trillion in the past year compared to the £450 billion invested by UK women. It’s believed that a lack of confidence and a tendency for women – and particularly young women – to be more risk-averse are long-standing reasons for this disparity.

Now, UK- and Denmark-based financial education platform Female Invest is working to close the gender investment gap. The company’s digital community supports women in learning more about investment, furthering their financial education in usable, practical ways, and improving their overall financial wellbeing.

Membership in the community provides access to a range of resources, from weekly webinars and market updates to financial planning worksheets, live Q&As with money experts, coaching sessions, invitations to events, and digital forums.

Events are often available both live and on-demand, and members can choose from courses that cover a diversity of topics and are offered in bite-sized sessions as well as more in-depth programmes. The community aspect provides a supportive space for women to ask questions about specific situations and life goals.

Membership is available in three different geographic groups: Denmark, England, and Global. This allows members to receive content specific to living and working in those areas, along with networking opportunities and invitations to relevant events. Members can switch their platform access between locations in order to receive different localised content.
