Fingerprint recognition allows automatic Facebook updates for hotel guests

The Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel will soon feature technology that recognizes guests' fingerprints and automatically updates their Facebook profiles.
We’ve already featured the Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel on these pages before thanks to its biometric payment system. Using the same technology, the hotel is now set to feature similar technology that recognizes guests’ fingerprints and automatically updates their Facebook profiles.
Continuing its all-embracing attitude towards new technologies, the company behind the hotel has plans to install touchscreens around the hotel that will give users a selection of actions to appear on their Facebook profiles. According to reports, guests will be able to quickly access their own account by placing their finger on a biometric sensor rather than typing in a password. Visitors will then be able to take a photo, update their current location or like the hotel event they are attending at that moment. The system will be launched in 2013 and will replace the current method of equipping guests with RFID-enabled wristbands. The following video gives more information about how it will work:
The hotel aims to set an example to other hospitality brands by demonstrating how technology can improve customer experience and spread the word about their business. One for inspiration?
