Through a multilingual app, companies can send surveys directly to workers across the world
Spotted: The sheer volume of people working in global supply chains (approximately 450 million according to the International Labour Organization) inevitably creates complexities that place many vulnerable groups at risk of poor working conditions and human rights violations.
And for brands that sit at the top of the global supply chain, it can be hard to obtain visibility of the social elements of ESG in the operations of global suppliers. This poses not only a reputational risk but an increasingly legislative one, with many companies under pressure from customers, investors, and regulators to manage and mitigate problems before they escalate.
To tackle the issue, Hong Kong-based startup Diginex has launched an app – called diginexAPPRISE – for collecting actionable data on working conditions directly from workers themselves, no matter where they are in the supply chain or the world.
Multilingual, audio-based, and easy to implement, diginexAPPRISE asks questions on topics such as gender equality, responsible recruitment, and living and working conditions, all of which can be customised by brands. Workers answer the questions verbally in their preferred language via a headset, and their responses are used to populate an intuitive analytics dashboard that makes it easy to identify red flags.
DiginexAPPRISE also plugs into the tech startup’s broader due diligence platform, diginexLUMEN, through which companies can collect standardised information about working conditions across supplier organisations.
In the archive, Springwise has spotted other innovations working to boost employee wellness and satisfaction, including a human-first upskilling platform and digital support for employee mental health.
