Organisations use the platform to demonstrate their DEI progress to internal and external stakeholders
Spotted: Diversity, equality, and inclusion (DEI) are becoming increasingly important for organisations looking to attract and retain the best talent. The issue, however, is how organisations can best identify existing DEI gaps and fill them.
This is the issue being tackled by startup Mixity. The company is developing a visual “footprint” of companies’ commitments to DEI. Organisations enter their data and information on the Mixity platform via a questionnaire that looks at five key areas: gender equality, disabilities, social/cultural background, inclusion of young/older people, sexual orientation, and gender identity.
The data collected is used to generate recommendations and a publishable footprint the company can use to display its DEI commitments to internal and external teams and stakeholders. Organisations can then consult their footprint, indicators, and recommendations to compare and monitor their progress in meeting their DEI goals and benchmark their footprint against sector averages.
Clients can also access Mixity’s consulting services, training, and collaborative tools to build and monitor DEI team-wide and company-wide action plans. As well as businesses, Mixity also offers solutions tailored to universities and non-profits.
The price of the platform varies depending on the number of employees and the type of platform and organisation. So far, Mixity has worked with more than 150 organisations to develop and improve DEI action plans. It has also joined forces with Deloitte to launch Mixity DEIS, a global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion certification for organisations to verify their DEI progress.
Other innovations seeking to improve workplace diversity and inclusion include a data-powered platform that drives workplace diversity and the use of AI to make job ads more inclusive.
