Auth0 offers an alternative to building in-house solutions for single passwords, multi-factor authentication and other security steps
Spotted: US-based Auth0 has created a universal security platform for developers. The startup provides authorisation and authentication as a service.
Instead of building in-house solutions for single passwords, multi-factor authentication and other security steps, developers can use and customise Auth0. The platform makes it easy for developers to adapt Identity-as-a-Service (IDaaS) solutions – like TouchID — for their products, according to the company. The startup’s IDaaS Universal Identity Platform helps developers secure web, mobile, Internet of Things (IoT) and internal applications.
Auth0 says it turns the security building process from a months-long challenge into a quick fix. Developers create a free account and choose identity providers. Next, they opt for a software development kit or the Auth0 application programming interface (API). Finally they hook up their app or API.
It secures over 80 million logins every day and caters for customers in over 70 countries, the company says. Auth0 recently raised $55 million in new funding to develop new IDaaS solutions.
