Pantomime Corp enables multiuser VR gaming via each player's own device.
Multiplayer virtual reality gaming can often be costly and inconvenient — not everyone will have the right headsets and gear. Pantomime Corporation hopes to overcome this with their interactive 3D worlds, playable via each user’s own device.
The games enable a network of smart devices to interact with a virtual world — each device operates as a screen and a physical component of the game. The game can accommodate up to six devices, including desktop computers, MacBooks, iPads and iPhones, and users are able to see each others’ devices moving within the VR world. The platform currently works via wifi, with one device functioning as the host, and Pantomime Corp is planning to introduce cloud-based internet gaming. A demo game Bug Farm is available for free download from the App Store for iPhone, iPads and Macs.
Pantomime Corp plan to sell their software to developers for gaming incorporation. Could there be a multiuser AR software, so that clients and retailers can interact when using something like this furniture customization app?
