Hertz offers electric bike rental scheme in London

Hertz car hire in London have made twelve e-bikes available for rental from their London Marble Arch branch.

The rise of the electric bike continues! We’ve recently seen customers rewarded for their eco-friendly transport choices with free charging stations appearing at both hotels and universities. Recognizing the popularity of electric two-wheeled travel, Hertz car hire in London have made twelve Ultra Motor e-bikes available for rental from their London Marble Arch branch. Joining the fleet of electric cars already available at Hertz, and in support of the Mayor of London’s pledge to turn the city into the electric vehicle capital of Europe, the electric bikes are aimed at both visitors to the city or locals who want an alternative to public transport. Michel Taride, President of Hertz International, commented: “Whether you’re a Londoner wanting to explore hidden treasures or find new places to shop, or a tourist wanting to see all London has to offer, the Ultra Motor bikes are a fast, green and economical mode of transport. We are pleased to offer electric bikes for an easy and fun way to explore the capital.” The e-bikes cost GBP 20 per day to hire, which includes full training, a lock, optional helmet and a copy of the AA Leisure Guide to London with suggested bike rides around the city. If successful, Hertz says the scheme could be extended to other bike-friendly cities such as Amsterdam. Electric bikes are a cheap, easy and eco-friendly way to navigate towns and cities.
