In Canada, repair shop helps customers service their own motorcycles

Motomethod is a fully staffed motorcycle repair shop that also enables DIY fans to service their bikes themselves.

Several years back we spotted O’garage offering French car enthusiasts professionally equipped garage space for rent by the hour, and recently we came across a similar concept targeting motorcycle fans. Set this time in Vancouver, British Columbia, Motomethod is a fully staffed motorcycle repair shop that also enables DIY fans to service their bikes themselves. Motomethod’s professional staff services “nearly all makes and models of motorcycles, old or new,” in the company’s own words, in addition to offering pickup, delivery, towing and storage services. Much more interesting however, is that it also claims to be the first in the industry to allow riders to rent a bay and repair their own bike. Motomethod provides the space, tools and resources DIY enthusiasts need to get the job done themselves, and offers to teach riders who are unsure how to carry out their own repairs. Following an annual membership fee of CAD 100, repair bays are available for rent to members for CAD 25 per hour. The video below tells the story behind Motomethod:
There’s no denying the appeal a do-it-yourself option has for many consumers, but offering such capabilities as well as a full service option keeps the bases covered. A model to emulate in your neck of the woods? Spotted by: Florent Lesauvage
