Inflatable cast can be applied anywhere, and by anyone

The Multiprotector is an inflatable device that serves much the same purpose as a plaster cast but can be quickly and easily applied anywhere and by anyone.
For many sports and workplace injuries, it’s essential to immobilize the injured area as soon as possible so as to minimize complications and lasting damage. That can be a challenge in most everyday settings, but a new Japanese innovation aims to make it easier. The Multiprotector is an inflatable device that serves much the same purpose as a plaster cast but can be quickly and easily applied anywhere and by anyone.
Inflating Kinoshita Kogyo’s Multiprotector is as simple as blowing it up through a single straw. As a result, when an injury occurs, anyone nearby can simply place the device on the injured area and quickly inflate it. Whether it’s to stop bleeding or stabilize a sprain or broken bone, the Multiprotector then keeps the injured area immobilized until professional medical treatment can be obtained. As an added benefit, the cast can reportedly serve as a leisure air pillow or swimming float as well. The DigInfo.tv video below demonstrates the Multiprotector in action:
Sold under the product name Air Gibbs Suiha, the Multiprotector is available in an arm-sized version priced at USD 47 and a USD 65 version for legs. Sports and medical entrepreneurs: one to help bring to your part of the world?
