Plant-based beauty brand serves all skin types with ultra-moisturising products

Ingredients include prickly pear, pomegranate, wild mint, and orange peel
Spotted: When beauty brand co-founder Lorna Hawthorne couldn’t find richly moisturising products that didn’t rely on chemical formulations for her skin and hair, she created her own. LLHOMD is a Black-owned business that places people of colour at the heart of their product development. The brand’s hair butter, shampoos, and skincare work for all hair and skin types and bring healthy, natural ingredients into everyday beauty routines.
Plant extracts and essential oils are included in every product, and no sulfates, parabens, petroleum, silicone, or any other harmful chemicals are used. Vitamins A, C, and E, along with plants and fruits such as pomegranate, prickly pear, aloe, wild mint, and orange peel provide a range of moisturising and calming skin and hair benefits. There is a full ingredient list for every product on the company’s website.
Many of the products are vegan, and the company is currently developing an organic line. The brand sells across the United States.
Replacing toxins in hair and skin products helps to push the beauty industry towards increased sustainability. Brands are innovating with the ingredients they use, such as leftover fruit that would otherwise be binned, and with their packaging and processes. For example, one vegan deodorant brand uses compostable refills and recycled packaging. These initiatives are reducing our reliance on petroleum-derived materials.
