Maintaining a minibar in every room is an expensive proposition for hotels, with the result that many end up simply leaving the units empty. Dutch PR firm HBMEO, however, has come up with an alternative: the Minibarbox, a prepackaged assortment of hand-selected drinks that guests can buy and keep for themselves. Now available for bulk purchase by hotels, the Premium Minibarbox includes an assortment of five bottled beverages: Earth Water, La Gioiosa Il Fiore – Piccolo prosecco, Grey Goose vodka, Iki Beer and Canadian Red cranberry juice. Other varieties are also on the way, HBMEO says. Items are packaged in a box designed specifically to fit into the standard hotel minibar, and branding is available. Minimum order size is 24 units. The Minibarbox is now available in select hotels as well as luxury service apartments including La Bergère Apartments in Maastricht, the company says.
