New database sells stock images of how people really live
Publishing & Media
Modstock is a new stock photography database, which offers images of the modern digital lifestyle.
Note: This article was a part of an April Fools prank, and is not a real business.
For most digital publishers, finding the right stock image that not only fits the brand, but also conveys the right message, can be a huge hurdle. Though there are platforms that sell only high quality images, many of them still fall short when it comes to offering up-to-date and relevant photos that truly represent the modern life of millennials, leaving publishers to create their own photoshoots, which can be costly and inefficient.
A new platform, Modstock, wants to change this. The freshly launched website hosts high quality stock photographs of how millennials really live. Images are inspired by real-life happenings, such as one titled “Man Looks For Love On Tinder From His Toilet Seat.” The images are high in definition (2940 x 1960 pixels), and users can search using trending keywords such as social, personal record, and more.
The business was birthed out of a recognition that current stock photography does not accurately represent modern living. Are there other niche image databases that could take advantage of the ever-growing industry of digital content?
