Consumers are sent stick-on paint swatches tailored to their preferences
In a world of constant technological advances, no aspect of life remains untouched. Wall paint is just one of these rarer areas of innovation. We have seen the creation of Belay, a peelable paint layer in a variety of colors that protects surfaces from scratches. The start-up SolCold is also developing a paint that can actively cool buildings down using light from the sun. This paint design aims to keep energy costs down and reduce environmental impact. The latest paint-related innovation comes from Clare, and is a simplified process of paint shopping and selection.
Devised by interior designer and entrepreneur Nicole Gibbons, Clare offers premium wall paints without the effort. Consumers no longer need to make multiple trips to the paint store; instead, Clare does the work for them. Customers take a short quiz online which helps narrow down the paint colors from the available selection. Gibbons arrived at a selection of 55 colors after researching almost 600 paint formulas. Once the paint colors are narrowed down considerably, consumers then order swatches of the colors they would like to try. Clare sends out Perfect Color Swatches to customers via post. These swatches are unique in their mess-free easy use. Instead of having to manually paint samples on to the wall, Clare’s swatches stick on to any surface. Moreover, these swatches are shipped to the client’s house for free. This premium paint goes above and beyond in order to improve consumer experience.
