Pocket Printer enables printing on the go

Work & Lifestyle

Currently seeking funding on Kickstarter, Pocket Printer is a paper printer that lives up to its name by being small enough to fit in the palm of your hand.

Despite the relative newness of 3D printers, we’ve already seen a portable version that can fit into owners’ backpacks, so it makes sense that there should be a mobile version of traditional paper printers. Currently seeking funding on Kickstarter, Pocket Printer is just that, and is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand.

Printers are typically only found in the office or at home, next to desktop computers, despite the fact we know essentially keep computers in our pockets in the form of smartphones. Created by Zuta Labs, the Pocket Printer aims to help the device join the mobile revolution by reducing it down to the print head. Instead of loading paper inside it, the Pocket Printer is placed on top of any size page and uses mechanical wheels to move across the page while printing the document. Users connect to the device via wifi or Bluetooth, which means it can print from laptops, tablets and smartphones alike. The video below explains more about the product:

The first version is available to pre-order until 10 May for USD 200, and will print in grayscale only. Are there other appliances that could be reduced in size to make them more mobile?
