Bridal Brokerage enables brides and grooms-to-be to buy ceremony and party plans that others have abandoned.
We’ve already covered two startups in the past week that aim to help redistribute unused commodities that otherwise would go to waste – whether its empty cinema seats or frequent flyer miles. Now Bridal Brokerage aims to do the same for weddings, enabling brides and grooms-to-be to buy ceremony and party plans that others have abandoned. Aimed at couples that have little time to organize a wedding or are operating on a budget, Bridal Brokerage first requires users to enter in the date and location to which they would like their ceremony to be near, as well as the number of guests they plan to invite. If a suitable plan is available, the startup has an in-house graphic designer who can quickly turn around RSVPs and programs. Those whose plans have changed can contact the service, giving details of all of the bookings – from venue to wedding bands and photographers – which can be transferred over to another couple. Sellers can give an estimated cost of the entire package and settle on a price when another party is interested in buying. Bridal Brokerage aims to help those who have changed their plans by making money back on their cancelled wedding, as well as help others to quickly source an entire ceremony. Could this business model be applied to other events? Spotted by: Judy McRae
