AdmitSee is a peer-to-peer service that offers college applicants and their parents an alternative to expensive admission consultants.
A peer-to-peer social network enabling high schoolers to connect with college students for college application advice has raised over USD 1.8 million in seed funding. AdmitSee offers applicants and their parents an alternative to expensive college admission consultants while enabling college students to earn money as application mentors.
AdmitSee, which launched in 2013, has already attracted 50,000 applications and the resource of 1,000 mentors. College students are paid USD 10 upfront for adding their information to the database, and incentivized to share as they’re paid an extra USD 1-5 every time someone views their profile. High school students pay USD 75 per month to view the profiles of students from up to five schools of their choice, and can also pay extra to have queries answered by mentors or have their entrance essay reviewed.
AdmitSee plan to replicate their success with similar databases for grad school and job applicants. Could existing staff and students be incentivized non-monetarily to help with recruitment?
