Ahead of ChangeNOW 2021, the world’s largest impact gathering of entrepreneurs and change-makers, co-founder, Santiago Lefebvre, and James Bidwell, Chair of Springwise, the leading intelligence platform for positive and sustained change called for urgent action to tackle the climate emergency.
“There are real consequences to what we do every day and while we can see positive impact accelerating, we are not going fast enough,” warns Santiago Lefebvre.

In a shared conversation ahead of the summit, Santiago Lefebvre and James Bidwell underline the power of innovation and collaboration in solving the world’s biggest challenges. “Innovation can help solve so many issues,” explains Santiago Lefebvre, “but this is not the whole picture. We need to also unite communities for positive change”. The imperative that the world deepens its understanding of the planet to better protect it, the opportunity the oceans offer in offsetting carbon and the responsibility to set the direction for the next generation are just some of the topics covered in their discussion. The ChangeNOW summit has fast become the world’s largest gathering of innovations for the planet bringing together the most inspirational minds with a mission to develop solutions and new models to respond to major environmental and societal emergencies.
More than 500 leaders will speak over the course of 3 days from 27-29 May along with events, forums and debates. The summit will also host a World Expo with over 300 exhibitors presenting innovations from around the world from new technologies in the US to accelerate the world’s transition to electric transportation and renewable energy to electric boats that collect oil spills from the water’s surface.
Protecting the health of our planet
James Bidwell will moderate a session on the first day of the ChangeNOW summit with expert speakers from the World Health Organisation and World Health Organisation for Animal Health, Plant-for-the-Planet and a representative from the European Parliament, discussing how we must protect our environment and its biodiversity to protect human health and avoid future pandemics.
