CondAm aims to provide condoms to students at any time of the day and usually within five minutes.
Back in May we wrote about online medical site Dr Ed, which was offering the morning after pill delivered by bike within two hours of ordering. Operating 24 hours a day on the campus of the College of New Jersey, CondAm is now doing the same for students needing condoms. Short for the Condom Ambulance, CondAm is the brainchild of current TCNJ sophomore interactive multimedia major Kyle McCabe, who operates out of his dorm room. Those who find themselves suddenly in need of contraception can log onto the site, phone or text their order at any time of the day and McCabe will deliver the products to their door. During the enterprise’s express hours – which run from 7pm to 3am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday – average delivery time is around five minutes. The service also offers an option of discrete delivery, whereby the products are delivered under the door. CondAm currently only stocks Trojan condoms but hopes to broaden its range in the future. Condoms are priced at USD 2 to USD 3 each, with deals for multiple purchases. McCabe does not intend to run CondAm at a profit, rather he wants to promote sexual health on campus and plans to donate extra cash to relevant charities. Could this work at your university?
