Credit card automatically makes donations to the church

Brazil's Bradesco bank has introduced a credit card that donates a percentage of all payments made to an evangelical Christian organization.

Consumers aren’t good at remembering to put some money towards a good cause, whether it’s for themselves or for charity. While we’ve already seen the Acorns app automatically put small change towards an investment portfolio based on user spending, now Brazil’s Bradesco bank has introduced a credit card that donates a percentage of all payments made to the church.

Those signing up for the card receive up to 40 days interest free and a percentage of all payments is matched and sent to the Igreja Internacional da Graça de Deus Nacional (The International Church of the Grace of God), an evangelical Pentecostal church based in Rio de Janeiro. That means that whenever consumers make a purchase on the card, they’re helping to support the church’s missions and spread word about the religion. The BRL 151 sign-up fee is also donated to the organization, which has around 2,000 followers.

Are there other causes that could partner with banks to help supporters give money without having to think about it?
