Wineist is a new subscription service from Slovenia that is enabling curated wine tasting sessions at home.
Regular readers of Springwise will have recently seen our coverage of Nuvino and Spotwine — two companies offering wine in convenient individual pouches for those on the go. Single-serve containers are also useful for getting a taste of a particular brand without investing in a full bottle, and Wineist — a new subscription service from Slovenia — is taking advantage by enabling curated wine tasting sessions at home.
Each delivery features a range of six wines picked by a team of food and wine professionals and experts and relating to that month’s theme. Subscribers can select an individual box, which features six 5cl bottles, or a group box, which provides six 18.8cl bottles. The wines come with a brochure that details information about their origins and taste, enabling users to broaden their knowledge, as well as suggestions about which food goes best with each one. Past themes have included Think Pink, which offered six different rosés from around the world, while the current From Orient to Occident package mixes wines from both Europe and Africa.
Solo subscriptions cost EUR 16.99 a month, while group packs are EUR 44.99. Are there other ways to enable food and drink lovers to sample global cuisine by subscription?
