Targeting small retail stores without e-commerce efforts of their own, Miinto offers an online shopping site that enables participating boutiques to sell to a global audience.
We’ve already seen several companies offer combined grocery deliveries from multiple local shops — London-based Hubbub was the most recent example — and now Danish Miinto is doing something similar for fashion boutiques in the online world. Targeting small retail stores without e-commerce efforts of their own, Miinto offers an online shopping site that enables participating boutiques to sell to a global audience. Miinto offers a wide range of clothing and accessories for men, women and children. Customers browsing the site can view delivery information and photos for each item listed, as well as details about the particular shops selling them. Visitors can search by item or by shop and area; when they find something they like, they order and pay through Miinto. Within minutes the shop selling the item then receives the order for quick fulfillment. Miinto also offer a photography service — helping previously offline companies capture images of their stock to display online — as well as taking care of marketing and returns. Miinto plans to launch a sister site in the US this month under the name Meinto.com. Fashion-minded entrepreneurs: one to partner with or emulate in other parts of the world?
