Hangover bus travels to those in need to provide cures

Las Vegas-based Hangover Heaven is now offering what is perhaps the first 'cure' that will actually travel to those who have partied too hard, with its mobile therapy service.

Many things have been touted as relief for a hangover throughout the ages, from hair-of-the-dog to more recent innovations like hydration tablets. However, Hangover Heaven is now offering what is perhaps the first ‘cure’ that will actually travel to those who have partied too hard, with its mobile therapy service. Based in Las Vegas, the Hangover Heaven bus constantly tours the Strip and makes stops at many of the major casinos throughout the morning after. Hungover patrons can also make an appointment and arrange to be picked up at a particular location. On board is medical doctor Jason Burke, founder of the bus, who serves those coming on board with a treatment program which includes an IV injection to deal with the nausea and headaches associated with a hangover. The company claims that the medication has a 95 percent success rate at returning patients to normal within 45 minutes, while the remaining five percent still make a 50 to 60 percent recovery. The bus is also fitted with a lounge area to help hangover victims relax and has an “ultra-smooth” ride to avoid inducing extra nausea. Hangover Heaven provides two packages – “Redemption” includes intravenous hydration and costs USD 130, while “Salvation” adds anti-inflammatory medication and multivitamin supplements for USD 200. However, the company is currently offering introductory prices of USD 90 and USD 150, respectively. The service has attracted some controversy – there are concerns that it promotes binge drinking and that there is no fool-proof cure for a hangover. Hangover Heaven, however, is certainly aiming for a wide market not catered for by the standard medical official. Could this service find global appeal? Spotted by: Cecilia Biemann
