Scottish distillers Highland Park partner with New York’s Sixpoint Brewery to create two beers designed to complement a single malt whisky.
Boilermakers, a combination of a beer and spirit drunk together, are popular drinks in a number of countries. Scotland’s Highland Park worked with New York’s Sixpoint Brewery to create two limited edition beers to be paired with two of the distiller’s single malt whiskies.
The beers, Rune and Sköll, are available in a number of New York bars for a limited time from October 2016. Rune is a golden ale meant to be matched with Highland Park 12 Year Old whisky. Sköll is a dark ale that complements Highland Park Dark Origins.
Brewers are innovating in a number of different ways, from creating biodegradable six-pack rings to adapting recipes based on crowdsourced feedback. What other areas of craftsmanship could use new approaches to complement limited edition products?
