Kids’ minibus with tailored equipment & GPS tracking
It wasn’t all that long ago that we spotted a women-only bus service in Mexico City, and now we’ve come across one for kids. Spanish bus company ALSA recently launched Pequebus, a kid-friendly bus service with features designed specifically for children. Targeting travelers aged five and under, Pequebus offers car seats, audiovisual entertainment and luggage racks specially adapted for strollers and other equipment, according to a report on Iconoculture. Dedicated pockets and other spaces, meanwhile, are designed to carry bottles, baby food and other childhood necessities, according to Pequelia. An ID card system reportedly tracks basic data about each child — including full name, age, weight, medical requirements, and the names of those allowed to pick them up — while a GPS system lets parents monitor their kids’ progress en route via the Pequebus website. Pricing on the pilot service, which was launched with the Polytechnic University of Madrid and the Ministry of Public Works for the Madrid area, starts at EUR 1 per ride. Judging also by French railway firm SNCF’s launch of in-station daycare centers, transporting kids to and from daycare each day is a real problem for many working families. How can your brand lessen some of that burden? Spotted by: R. Steinberg
