Personalised jewellery design with new image app

Combining technology with traditional goldsmith techniques, Finnish company Jevelo turns uploaded images into personalized jewellery.

Using the iOS app or uploads via the website, Finnish company Jevelo turns personal images into necklaces, bracelets, charms and earrings. In either sterling silver or stainless steel, the finished products are unique to each customer. Different sizes are available, as are chains that match the pendants.

Manufactured in the southern Finnish village of Fiskars, Jevelo jewellery ships for free. Customers can choose from engraved or cut out images, and prices range from EUR 65 to EUR 110 per piece. The service is currently available across much of Europe, Australia and the United States, and the company plans to expand further in the near future. If customers would like to sell their images via the Jevelo marketplace, they will receive a EUR 5 designer fee every time the design is purchased.

Personalization is being applied in myriad industries, with clothing and jewellery companies providing many design-it-yourself opportunities, particularly for proud parents. This jeweller turns children’s artwork into bespoke jewellery, and this company transforms children’s drawings into bespoke items of clothing. What areas of consumer goods have yet to try out a custom approach?
