Photography studio sells what it shoots

Yoopia is a new photography studio that will shoot a client's products for free, before selling those products on at discounted prices through its online store.

We’ve already seen one twist on traditional promotional video and photography services when we covered Timbooktwo, and now we’ve come across another. Belgium-based Yoopia is a new photography studio that will shoot a client’s products for free, before selling those products on at discounted prices through its online store. At its studio in Brussels, Yoopia’s trained photographers begin by shooting a client’s product range for free. Yoopia then returns the photos to the client along with copy to help them sell their items. Having paid a small fee to the client to keep the products, Yoopia then sells the items on at a discounted price from the Yoopia online store, which also acts as a promotional platform for both Yoopia itself and for their clients. As the startup only receives a few samples of each product from the client, deals are only offered for a limited time. Yoopia’s photographers, who have worked with brands including Samsonite, Veritas and Axis71, currently shoot inside the company’s 30-meter infinity Cyclorama. Now that we’ve seen promotional video and photography services modified to include e-commerce platforms and “buy one, donate one” models, how else could the industry be adapted to benefit everyone involved?
