Portable bottle can make beer on the go

Pat's Backcountry Beverages has developed the Carbonator Bottle, which can be used with beer concentrate to enable ramblers to enjoy a drink in the open air.

Water sterilizers such as the UV-based All Clear bottle may be necessary in situations where outdoor types may find themselves without clean hydration sources, but luckily these are rare occurrences. For those taking less risky trips, Pat’s Backcountry Beverages has developed the Carbonator Bottle, which can be used with beer concentrate to enable ramblers to enjoy a drink in the open air. Designed by the Alaska-based company to be lightweight and rugged, the bottle can be used as a regular water container for hikers. However, the lid holds a special compartment that can be loaded with eco2ACTIVATOR – the company’s carbonating solution – which makes the water fizzy when the tab on top of the bottle is pressed. On top of this, Pat’s Backcountry Beverages also sells sachets of beer concentrate, carefully brewed with minimal amounts of water. Rather than creating a beer, dehydrating it and adding water back in later, the beer is made for the first time when carbonated, which the company claims creates a tastier drink. The following video shows how the Carbonator Bottle works:
The concept reduces the weight having to be carried by those traveling outdoors and could stop cans and glass bottles from littering the countryside. One for outdoorsy entrepreneurs to explore?
