Beautiful Information’s latest tech provides senior healthcare staff with a real-time overview of what is happening at each sector of hospital services.
We’ve been seeing more ideas for making volumes of data easier to use, such as this open source service for transit app developers and a cloud-based government information visualization platform. In the National Health Service (NHS), speed is critical to care, and difficult decisions must take into account complex calculations. Healthcare information technology company Beautiful Information is trying to make those decisions easier with its Operational Control Centre app.
The app turns huge quantities of data into useable information, presented visually and in near-to-real-time, for both clinicians and managers. The user interface is a dashboard that is fully customizable for each organization and within each team. Such mobility allows a chief executive to know exactly how many patients are in A&E at any time; provides staff with alerts when a patient leaving the hospital is delayed; and helps medical directors make rapid decisions based on accurate numbers of available beds.
In what ways could opening up access to healthcare data improve other services?
