Moveline creates an inventory of its customers' homes over video conferencing and works with removal companies to find the best deals.
We’ve already seen interesting relocation ideas in the form of pedal-powered removals and house move services aimed especially at seniors, but our latest spotting puts new technology to use to make moving home easier. Moveline creates an inventory of its customers’ homes over video conferencing and works with removal companies to find the best deals. Where standard price comparison sites can make customers fill in endless forms in order to work out a suitable quote, homeowners using Moveline can either take a video recording of their current residence, or use Apple’s Facetime platform to show all the items they will be moving. Moveline then creates an inventory from the footage, which is sent back to the mover to check. Once finalized, the company speaks to its roster of removals experts to find the best quotes, all the while keeping customer information private. Customers then select the price they are most happy with and Moveline arranges the job. The company takes around a five to 15 percent cut of the final deal. Customers can access Moveline’s services through its site or its dedicated iPhone app. Currently based in New York City, could this kind of system be beneficial in your part of the world?
