A well-thumbed cookbook is one that’s also been splattered with a whole manner of different food stains over the years. But with the advent of mobile devices, more and more home chefs are using their tablet while cooking in the kitchen, and the gadgets are less tolerant of being attacked with oil and sticky fingers. Now Key Ingredient has developed its Recipe Tablet, a heat and spill-resistant tablet that can read recipes out loud while users cook.

Protected by a rugged silicon case, the tablet is designed to withstand the trials of home cooking. As well as being heat-resistant, the device can be simply wiped clean of almost any spillage. The case also features feet that let users stand the device up at an angle that suits them. In order to help home chefs to continue cooking uninterrupted by checking the recipe, the tablet comes pre-loaded with an intelligent app that can read any recipe from the web out loud. It also has its own built-in library of meal ideas, as well as entertainment such as music and videos. The Recipe Tablet works with third-party apps that enable users to organize their recipe collections and manage their groceries.
