Site lets users gift freelancers’ time

The Netherlands' JO Cadeau is enabling freelancers to offer their time for others to gift to their friends.

We recently wrote about GroupTalent, the platform that lets freelancers ‘date’ companies to show off their talents before landing a more permanent role. Now the Netherlands’ JO Cadeau is enabling them to offer their time for others to gift to their friends.

Those planning to give a gift through JO Cadeau can browse the hundreds of freelancers available through the site. These range from artists and personal jewelers to home improvement professionals and museum tour experts. Freelancers list their rates and givers decide how much time they would like to gift. The presents come in the form of nicely-designed physical vouchers that recipients can then redeem through the site, arranging with the freelancers how best to receive their gift. Gifts can range from anywhere between EUR 25 and EUR 1,000 and enable givers and recipients to benefit from an unusual and unique experience while also supporting local freelancers.
