ReShare taps human volunteers to create translations of the day's most popular news articles into multiple languages.
With the amount of content now being created globally, there’s even more of a demand for translations of foreign language media. While innovations such as Easy Way Subtitles have provided live computer-generated translations of any Brazilian TV show, ReShare is tapping human volunteers to create translations of the day’s most popular news articles into multiple languages.
Developed by Conyac, a community for crowdsourced document translation, ReShare focuses on making shareable news articles available to anyone, not just speakers of the language they were written in. Tapping its existing community of translators, the platform offers reward points for transposing interesting content into another language. The higher the quality the translation is, and the more shares it gets on social media, the more points the writer will receive. The ReShare app is available for free on both the App Store and Google Play, and news junkies can browse either by language or subject to find the day’s headlines in the their preferred tongue and easily share them.
Are there other ways to ensure potentially viral content doesn’t get stuck behind language barriers?
