Small clip aims to revolutionize the bike rack

Clug is a near-invisible clip which can discreetly mount bicycles vertically and horizontally.

Frequent cyclists will be all too familiar with the mess bicycles can make on the walls of their home. Think black smudge marks and dirt from wheels and handlebars. Bike racks, however, are often large and unsightly, leaving riders with little alternative. Looking to change all of that however, Clug is a near-invisible clip which can discreetly mount bicycles both vertically and horizontally.

Marketed as “the world’s smallest bike rack”, Clug — created by Vancouver-based Hurdler Studio — recently raised CAD 107,947 through it’s Kickstarter campaign. To install the bracket, users must first screw the plastic “clipper” section onto their wall, or use adhesive mounting strips. An elastomer “gripper” section in then fitted inside the clipper, and while the clipper provides the tension to hold the bike wheel, the gripper secures it in place and protects the wheel’s rim. The current Clug design can hold road bike tires, although there are plans for a larger model suitable for mountain bikes. You can see the various possibilities for Clug in the video below:

What other pain points could be improved for cyclists outside of clothing and add-ons for the bike itself?
