Smart device quantifies muscle quality to help users sculpt their guns

Skulpt Aim is a handheld device that can measure fat percentage and detect muscle quality for those looking to beef up.

There are already a plethora of fitness trackers saturating the market, and those looking to move into the field will need to have a trick up their sleeve. We recently wrote about FitStar, which offers smart, personalized workout regimes, and now Skulpt Aim is entering onto the market with a device that can measure fat percentage and detect muscle quality for those looking to beef up.

While many fitness trackers make an estimate of the effect of exercise on athlete’s bodies, based on calculations and average body types, they don’t let them know exactly what’s changing on their own body. The Aim is a smartphone-shaped device that, when pressed against a part of the body such as the biceps or abdominal muscles, uses electrodes to send a small current through the tissue. By analyzing the current flow, the device can accurately determine the percentage of fat present as well as the quality of the built muscle. Users can then connect the Aim via Bluetooth to their smartphone in order to record their muscle quality readings and track their improvement over time. The video below explains a bit more about the product:

Having already surpassed its fundraising target of USD 100,000 on Indiegogo by nearly 400 percent, the Skulpt Aim is now available to pre-order for USD 149.99. What other aspects of our bodies are quantifiable?
