Sports bra can detect breast cancer early

The Breast Tissue Screening Bra features smart technology that monitors minute changes to accurately predict the presence of cancer before it can grow.

While ideas such as Bffl Bags and Jillies can help to make those diagnosed with breast cancer feel more at ease, it is still the case that early detection could increase chances of survival. Aiming to improve current systems for catching cancer early, the Breast Tissue Screening Bra features smart technology that monitors minute changes to accurately predict the presence of cancer before it can grow. According to First Warning Systems, the company behind the development of the bra, mammograms are not completely accurate at detecting tumours, proving correct 70 percent of the time. This is because the screening method requires the cancer to have grown enough to be detected. The Breast Tissue Screening Bra, which is designed similarly to a sports bra, contains sensors that monitor temperature changes in cells that indicate new blood vessel growth. The results are collected over time and uploaded onto software used by health professionals. The following video explains more about how it works:
Although it is not yet marketable, trials of the prototype found a higher than 90 percent accuracy at detection, as well as being able to uncover cancer presence some six years before traditional screening methods. One to get in on early? Spotted by: Murray Orange
