Vinyl Me, Please is a new service offering curated vinyl record selections as well as a cocktail recipe to try while listening.
Music can be an integral part of any social evening, and this idea has been picked up in the past by Turntable Kitchen, a subscription service that helps members discover new music, as well as new foods. Now Vinyl Me, Please is a new service offering curated vinyl records as well as a cocktail recipe to try while listening.
Vinyl has seen a resurgence in the past few years, with indie labels continuing to see consumer interest in the archaic format and a vinyl-only library opening in London recently. Vinyl Me, Please enables enthusiasts to regularly add to their collection with a new choice cut each month. Titles selected are considered ‘essential’ by the startup team and each one is matched with a cocktail recipe that can be enjoyed while listening. In addition, members get access to The Standard, a weekly music digest that recommends artists not featured in the record selection, and a print inspired by the album.
Past record picks have ranged from Thelonious Monk to SBTRKT and Explosions In The Sky to Charles Bradley. The service costs USD 23 a month and those wishing to sign up must currently request an invite. Are there ways that subscription services could create more unusual pairings to send to members each month?
