A portable purifier that creates personal fresh air

The Quair Plasma Mini Wearable Air Purifier creates a personal breathing space of clean air that is three times wider than similar products

Spotted: During the COVID-19 lockdowns, many people picked up new hobbies and honed certain skills. This was no different for three colleagues, Thomas, Jason, and Andy, who spent their time working closely with air purification experts. The trio had a goal to create a device that helped keep people safer from allergies, pollution, and bacteria in the air. As a result, they developed the Quair Plasma Mini Wearable Air Purifier. The device boasts a sleek compact and lightweight design with a strong air purifying capacity, which creates a personal breathing space of fresh air that is three times wider than other portable air purifiers already on the market.

The current standard wearable purifiers that are available don’t tend to eliminate contaminants, but rather force them down onto nearby surfaces where they remain a threat. The Quair Plasma uses a two-step process instead. It first releases positive and negative ions into the air and it then spreads them out with a miniature fan. Once airborne, these ions seek out airborne contaminants and fully break them down, making the air around the wearer cleaner and safer. On top of clean air, the device only weighs 85 grams, making them easily wearable, and has a rechargeable battery that can last eight to 10 hours.

The Quair Plasma campaign is now on Indiegogo and is available to order at an early bird price of €48. They are scheduled to be ready for shipment in February 2021. The team have raised 61 per cent of their goal and will use the funds for large-scale production of the device.
