World’s first recyclable designer over-ear headphones

Publishing & Media

Noisezero O+ are the “world’s first recyclable material designer over-ear headphones”.

As consumers are being increasingly influenced by a product’s eco-friendly credentials, it’s perhaps no surprise that we’re now seeing the introduction of recyclable, designer audio equipment. The result of a collaborative design effort, Noisezero O+ Eco edition are “the world’s first recyclable material designer over-ear headphones.” The Noisezero 0+ Eco edition over-ear headphones were developed by British designer Michael Young, music technology brand EOps and French online retailer Colette. The follow-up to the Noisezero i+ Eco buds, the headphones are crafted using cornstarch bio-plastic, stainless steel and aluminium, all of which are recyclable. A 50mm Titanium-coated HD driver unit with neodymium iron boron magnet generates the sound while eliminating unwanted vibration, and bio-plastic ear chambers and sheep leather ear pads have been used to give comfort and improve sound quality. The headphones — compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod — come with a microphone and a three-button remote module to control playback and volume. Priced at EUR 140, they are available in two colours and come with a soft carry pouch. In keeping with the Eco Superior trend, the Noisezero O+ Eco edition headphones are proof that eco-friendly electronics don’t have to compromise design or quality.
