8TV is a retail app that lets anyone create 8-second product review videos, so shoppers can scan products and browse user feedback on-the-go.
We’ve seen how user-generated videos and images are becoming increasingly valuable in advertising, and now a new app is enabling anyone to create video adverts for products. Tapping into the popularity of “unboxing” videos, 8TV enables users to create short video reviews of products they enjoy.
First, consumers record 8-second videos using 8TV’s app. Then, when a shopper picks up the same product, they can scan the barcode with the app, and browse through all video reviews. The app will also link users to the product’s Amazon page. Video creators receive commissions with click throughs, and can eventually create TV-style shopping shows that attract brand sponsors in a similar manner to YouTube stars. 8TV is now fully launched on the App Store with content already available for millions of products.
How else can advertisers tap into the power of peer-to-peer reviews?
