Sunflower Home Awareness System has used a combination of sensor and drone technology to create a comprehensive home security system.
For some, home security is essential and many are willing to spend a significant amount of money on it. Springwise has looked at several interesting startups that use the latest technology to make improvements to existing systems. Amongst them, this smart device that sets off an alarm to warn of burglars attempting to intercept packages, and this smartphone system that uses a camera to broadcast who’s at the door directly to a user’s phone. Now, the Sunflower light uses a combination of sensors and drone technology to offer homeowners an even more comprehensive security system.
The Sunflower Home Awareness System uses a combination of light and flight, combining outdoor sensors with an aerial camera for a complete view of what’s going on around the home. To begin, users stick the light sensors into the ground in the garden. The drone-mounted camera will travel to the area of interest and send a live video stream directly to a user’s device The camera can then send a live video directly to a user’s device. The easy to install Smart Light sticks also double as garden lighting.
The startup has just raised USD 2.1 million in investment and the product will ship in 2017. Could this combined system be used on a larger scale?
